I have decided that my favorite silhouettes for my body type are shift dresses and swing dresses. I do not like tight things. I find myself pulling them down or pulling them up, forgetting to suck in my stomach or sucking it in too much. It is more of a hassle than I am willing to bear.
So, when I saw this swing dress at Forever 21 for less than $30, I was sold. But it was a tad short. Probably because although the store’s name suggests that we will always be of a certain age, my body parts have not received that message.
I paired it with my favorite slip, Free People’s Trapeze Slip. I want another color in this, because I wear the one I have constantly.
The necklace is Simply Livly’s Turquoise Necklace. The shoe’s are Anthropologie’s Tarara Gladiator Sandals.
We took my husband’s VW Bus for a spin and I love that the color of the bus matched the color of the slip.
We ended up at a vineyard with amazing views.
I love when we stumble upon a gorgeous piece of scenery. Actually, I love stumbling upon anything unexpectedly good.
Have you stumbled upon a beautiful piece of scenery lately? Did it make you want to spin? I will admit, this day was so gorgeous, it made me want to embrace the sky. Thankfully, my unrestricted garments made that possible.
Not the actual embracing of the sky, but the insane act of trying.

You are really getting lots of use out of those boots. I don’t like this style on anyone but you. Maybe it is because they are skin-toned? I don’t know. But they are working.

Thank you Suzanne! I do not really like the gladiators out there either, but I loved the color of these. I like that they are so muted. They are my favorites. I have a dress I bought for my birthday coming on Tuesday and I am hoping they work with it.

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours! It is so fun and the photos are great! I still have not taken the plunge for the tunic. I have looked in 2-3 different stores, but to no avail…hopefully I can find it soon. I just love it!

Thank you so much Alicia. I think it is still available online. If not, they seem to have made three other colors in it. Since I all ready have this one, I did not buy them, but I really like the new rose one. It is gorgeous and it would be so pretty with your hair and complexion.

I completely agree & feel the same about forever 21, yet I do sometimes find things for myself there. You look great in the dress & the slip underneath is perfect!
Can I plz visit your husband’s vs bus? Seriously love! It’s beautiful & that color is perfection! I had a ’68 convertible bug that was my pride & joy…until I drove it around az for 3 summers frying in the 115 degree temperatures everyday. Sadly I traded it in for a newer vw w/ air conditioning but I regret it. I wish I could have kept it as a second car for spring & fall. But hindsight is always 20 20 right?! It makes me sad to think about it. Oh well, that’s life in your early ’20’s I guess. 🙁
I hope your ac powers through. I thought to myself that night also, why do things quit working when you absolutely need them the most? It seems like that’s always the way. Just relieved it was fixed, I thought for sure we’d have to buy a whole new unit.
I’m very jealous of your kiddos’ sleeping in. At least mine are old enough that I do not have to get up with them, thought I don’t sleep too late. Always have my mom radar on I guess.

Oh my gosh! Aaahhhh! I can’t believe you traded it in. Those just keep going up in value. I bet that happens all of the time. Early 20s are made for mistakes. I am just happy to have made it through that time! : )
I am keeping my fingers crossed about the ac. It was making weird noises two days ago. It’s always something.
My kids are old enough to make themselves breakfast and do their thing. It is so nice. I slept til 10 today and now I have a ton to do. Paying the piper so to speak!

Thank you Melodee. I love our bus. We definitely do not use it enough. My kids don’t like going in it ever since we broke down in it when we were all in our pajamas. But I am game to go in t any time, clothing appropriate or not! : )

Love the photos and the VW! I too dislike clothes that I have to constantly adjust.
We drove up the 101 recently and I have to say I was surprised at how gorgeous the drive was. I’ll never take the 5 again!
