This giveaway is now closed. Thank you to all who entered!
This month I was scratching my head as to what to give away. You know, my little blog does not make any money (yet). And I pay for things out of pocket. I very much believe in random acts of kindness. I try to do a little something everyday. But it is easy to forget. During the holiday month countdown, I do bigger things. Like leaving a small gift card in a book at the bookstore. Or buying coffee for the person behind me. I just won’t buy flowers for our house that week or skip eating out.
So, I have to keep my giveaways small. But I love doing them! It is my act of kindness to anyone who reads this blog. You are so kind to me when you stop in or comment. I sometimes can get into a funk. This blog has kept my head above water and just made me happy for eight months. Thank you!
During the recent Sephora sale, I picked up an item I wanted to do for a giveaway. There is a slight problem of it not having shipped to me yet. If for some reason, it does not ship, I will have to substitute the package for a $20 gift card instead. Please be aware that this might happen when entering. I will update this as soon as I know more. I am hoping it ships, because. (Update 11/11: It shipped!) it was such a steal for the items in it:
It is the Clinique Black Honey package. It was a great deal and with the discount became even more so. The package comes with:
– 0.14 oz A Different Enamel in Black Honey
– 0.21 oz Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Black Honey
– 0.14 oz High Impact Mascara in Black Honey
– 0.06 oz Almost Lipstick in Black Honey
Black honey is sometimes referred to as the “sisterhood” lipstick, because it looks good on everyone. Every skin tone. Every smile. It just works. And I love that! Plus, it has the word “honey” in it and this beekeeper’s daughter loved that, too.
To enter simply leave a comment telling me what made you smile this week. Sometimes it’s hard to concentrate on the good. So, let’s do that together.
I’ll share: my smile this week was coming home and finding that my husband had gone to the grocery store and picked me up all of the ingredients to cook chicken chili for myself and the kids before he had left for work. I didn’t have to go out. The kicker is, my husband doesn’t even like chicken chili. He was just being nice. Gosh, I love him.
You can also earn a second entry by following this blog. You can do so any old way on the right hand side of the page. Just make sure to leave a second comment stating you are following.
Limit two entries per person.

Eight months! You rock ~~ not just because of your blog but for who you are as a person. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your awesomeness with the cyber world.
My happy smile making event this week was a little, dark headed, sparkly eyed, giggly five year old twin who was my patient. She was an awesome end to my day. She even let the doctor wiggle out a loose tooth and thought it was fun! When she was done, she ran down the hall to check on her twin who was in the other room. Then, she came running back down the hall back to me, threw her arms around my legs and squeezed me and said, “Thank you”. Sniff, sniff.
As you know, I follow you on Bloglovin’. The first thing I read every morning as I’m getting ready for work.

Congratulations on 8 months. What made me smile this week. It was my son’s 22 nod birthday this week, and he wanted a didgeridoo (an Australian instrument). It’s like a big wooden horn. We thought he was crazy. But seeing a 22 go around with a giant didgeridoo made me even more than smile. I was laughing because boys never grow up, even at 22 he was like a little boy. I didn’t mind. Sometimes you just wish they didn’t grow up.
Congratulations on the 8 months…..hope there are many more to come!
What made me smile this week?……The fact that I was able to do 2 hot yoga classes one after the other. It was surreal.

It made me smile to be able to celebrate my husbands 50th Birthday with him and the rest of my family.
I am a follower and I love your blog AND your style. Congrats on 8 months Jenni!
My husband took me out on a surprise date last night, as my makeup birthday – that made me smile! On my actual birthday, we had 2 police visits to the house because our phone line somehow made false 911 calls (we just moved in) and we had to cancel my birthday dinner reservation that night because we were worried the police would come back and knock our door down if nobody answered. We have a cat and were afraid that might scare him and that he might run away. Needless to say, that was the worse birthday I’ve ever had. My husband promised he’d make it up for me, and I thought he’d forgottenβ¦but he didn’t π
What makes me smile is hearing that my dad gets to come home from working overseas! He’s been working out of the country for the past 10 years, so this is a very, very welcome change.
Happy 8 month anniversary!
This week I smiled a little baby started giggling on our really crowded stuck subway car, for some reason that sweet little laugh lightend everyone’s mode. It hard to believe that something so small broke the ice and had everyone talking and laughing right along with him, even though we were stuck and all wanted to get home after a long day. Nothing is better then baby giggles.
Also I follow you…not in the creepy way, but on blog login
This week, an unexpected phone call from an old friend made me smile!
I added your blog to my feedly!
I read your blog every morning and love it!
I took my kids out to the beach yesterday and seeing them scamper around the rocks and play together made me smile. It also made me exhausted. π
Hey, this is a really cool giveaway item! I’m drooling! π
What made me smile today was when we went to visit some friends who have a little daughter and two terriers. There was one point when I was sitting on the floor with the girl doggie, Molly, in my lap and the boy doggie, Teddy, lying on my legs, petting each of them with one hand… and I just could not stop grinning. Also, their daughter was showing me how the dogs ears were all pink inside, and sticking her finger all the way into the girl doggie’s ear before I hastily pulled it out and told her “Molly won’t like that”. I mean, she was cute but the dogs were cuter (sorry, proud parents!)!
Oh, and I follow you on bloglovin’. But of course! π
The giant pot of soup I made today in my crockpot! Soup for days. Let’s just hope I don’t get sick of it…
Oh, and I follow your blog!
I found your blog thru Effortless Anthro outfit posts and here I am for my weekly check-in π
I recently moved to a tiny town with my husband so he could begin attending the law school here. I wasn’t sure what that meant for me until I FINALLY received an offer for employment this week! Developmental specialist over at a little social services office. I’m so excited to have a reason to get dressed, to be able to afford my gym membership again and support our little family of fuzzy boys for the next 2.5 years … the only thing I need is this giveaway!!!!
Hi Jenni,
What made me smile multiple times this week: feeling my baby kick. Pregnancy has been really tough on me, and in this third trimester, I am getting no sleep and don’t have much of an appetite, can’t walk that well either..but when my baby kicks me, oh how it brightens my world! =)
As I’ve mentioned to you before (I don’t expect you to remember though, lol), I read your blog almost everyday, I’m just sort of a silent follower. I am not officially a blog follower though – for any of the blogs I check on on a daily basis.
Thanks for your hard work!
Taking my almost 7 month old baby boy camping for the first time made me smile. Seeing him take in the giant redwoods, fresh air, and all the fun noises… it was amazing. Congrats on 8 months! I follow your blog and always enjoy what you write.
Tonight the thing that made me smile was finding your blog (Sarah at the SHU box mentioned it) and reading back through July. I love how wonderfully eclectic your clothing, home and writing style is. I’m excited to add gnomelover to my reader.
I work with kids with Autism, and one of my kiddos that I work with in their home, we have been practicing and trying to master writing his name by himself. Just the other day the parent called to tell me her family was visiting and asked him to write his name and he did it 100%! That made my week and I’m so happy that I have made a difference in his life!
I also follow your blog and love your emails! Congrats on 8months and I love all the stuff you write about and provide!
You are so sweet- oh, I’ve been intrigued by this magic clinique honey product for awhile!
And the nicest thing I’ve seen this week is reading all these sweet stories- thanks for asking for them! Last week was a tough one, and it`s nice to read about some little magical moments.
And of course I’ve been a follower from the very first- love your quirky style!
Congratulations on 8 months! The thing that made me smile this week was going to my friend’s house for a “Friendsgiving” dinner. She had been struggling with infertility, and is now 16 weeks pregnant-and has the cutest baby bump!
Congrats on your 8 months!
I got the chance to make a long drive to visit my grandparents this past weekend, and that is going to make me smile for the week! I keep thinking about them and the stories they told me. . .what an amazing thing to have such a full life.
Also, I follow you via Bloglovin. Your blog is one of my favorites. . . your voice is so genuine and kind.
Congratulations on 8 months!
I am pregnant and my 2 year-old made me laugh this week when she told me that her future sibling is going to come out of her belly button π
I also follow you on Bloglovin.
Congratulations on 8 months, Jenni! You have an awesome blog, and I look forward to each new post. What a fun giveaway, too. Love the colors and the products! The thing that made me smile this week was playing disc golf with my family. One of the boys had seen our disc golf set in the garage and said it looked like fun, so my sweet husband found a course nearby and we all went in the beautiful weather today for some friendly competition. With his crazy work schedule, I love that he makes sure we carve out some time together having fun when he is home.
And I’m a follower of your blog, too. π

What made me smile this week: Every week, I try to do something nice for someone less fortunate than myself.
This week, I was walking in to Starbucks and noticed a homeless man with his shopping cart shivering behind the store (I live in Texas, but it we had an unusually cold morning that day).
I went in to the Starbucks and they were SO busy! All of the customers were standing there impatiently with scowls on their faces, waiting for their pumpkin spice lattes or whatever.
I almost walked out, but decided that I might as well stay and get something warm for the homeless man to drink. I looked around at all of the angry, impatient people and decided that if I could take the time to do something nice for someone, no matter how trivial, maybe I could restore a bit of good in the universe.
I bought the man a big hot chocolate and took it outside to him. I could see the shock on his face when I handed him the hot chocolate, as if he was used to people just looking right through him.
As I was driving away, I looked in the rear view mirror and watched him as he stopped doing his shivery- hopping-up-and-down-cold dance and took a tentative sip. I was smiling all the way home. It’s the little things…
Happy 8 months, Jenni! Love Black Honey! I have been wearing it since it came out.
I smiled this week at seeing my childhood best friend and her mom. I think I was grinning from ear to ear for the entire day. It was wonderful.
xoxo
I follow you on bloglivin’ & what made me smile was that my daughter & I took our 70 year old neighbor to do some Christmas shopping & on the way out of the mall, my neighbor gave my 2 year old a dollar to put in the Salvation Army bucket & it made her so excited to put the dollar in to help someone!
A big hug from my daughter made me smile π
I picked out tiles for my kitchen backsplash, that made me smile π
I smiled when my daughter tried to take her teddy bear in the bathtub. File “No, Teddy doesn’t need a bath” under things I can’t say with a straight face! Congratulations on 8 months, a frequent reader, and very rare commenter, I love your blog!
Awesome giveaway! I read your blog every day, although typically I just lurk, no comments. Your writing always brings a smile to my face and often inspires me to be thankful for the little things π
Several things made me smile this week – my students at school (I teach 8th grade), who always say the most hilarious things, my adorable dog, and my dad surprising me with white chocolate covered oreos (my holiday favorite!)
And for entry #2 I just followed your blog via email π
My smile moment:
One of my preschool students: “Trees are weird.”
Me: “Hmm. Why do you think trees are weird.”
Her: “Trees are alive. But they don’t have noses.”
Also, I follow via bloglovin.
Also-also, I love the black honey color and find it amazing that they haven’t discontinued it since 90% of all my favorite beauty products seem to get discontinued. I’m still mourning the death of the Clinique “Blue Jam” Chubby Stick.
RIP Blue Jam, RIP.
I found you through Savvy Southern Style. Love your blog! My foster kitten (5 weeks old) made me smile this week when she was tired out from playing and snuggled down inside my robe for a nap. She is so sweet, I love all my fosters and she will be a really hard one to take back for adoption;)
Watching my big brother get married on Sunday made me smile!
I smiled when my sister took my place at work to cover my shift, (we work for the same job at that same location). I was feeling very ill and I was feeling worse by the minute. It was too late of a notice to call in sick. She surprised me by offering to work for me and cancelled her plans that she had that evening.

My nephew made me smile when he told me I was just as pretty as his mom.

Congrats on eight months. I love reading your lively thoughts. My smile moment came when I had a shocking reunion with a high school friend I haven’t seen in over 15 years. She happened to be in my area for a conference three hours from home, and i happened to have an appointment in the building of her conference. We spotted each other in the lobby and had such an emotional reunion it made the security guard get teary-eyed. Such a small world and smiles for days!!
