I love February. It is a quick month. A month of possibilities. In California you never know what February will look like. It is quite typically cold, but this month has been uncharacteristically warm. I feel for everyone dealing with the cold weather. If it is any consolation, so many of us Californians are getting sick because of the fluctuations in the weather. My daughter is home sick today.

For this month’s giveaway I am giving away a $25 e-gift card to Urban Outfitters. I have been pleasantly surprised by their fun and affordable options this last month. No, the jumpsuit I mentioned in this post that I ordered did not work out, but it resulted in a funny moment with my husband. I like their cheap shoes that are 2 for $20. I had some changes happen in January that led me to explore myself a little more. I am trying a few new things this month. And I am letting go of others. More on this later.

Wow! This month is flying by! I didn’t even realize we were coming up on the tenth! It feels like it was just Christmas. In fact, I still have a pile of Christmas stuff in my living room that needs to be packed away. You know, you think you picked up everything and then there is a wreath here or an ornament there and suddenly you have fifteen items cluttering up your house that you don’t want to deal with.

This week has been hard. My kids started school again and in the overheard words of a child I know, “I’m not ready to start the grind again.”

This month I decided to give away a $25 e-Gift Card to Sephora. I have really been loving experimenting with makeup lately. I recently did a post about my favorite new lipstick set. I wore the orange color to get my hair done this week and after three hours, my sweet hairdresser said, “I can’t believe your lipstick has stayed on this whole time!” I also finally have made a decision on what mascara I think wins the top spot after trying about twenty different ones over the last year. That post will run in the next two weeks. Needless to say that makeup has been on my mind.

How is it December 10th?! How? I ask you. I have never been this far behind in my Christmas game before. For days, I was writing December 4th on my checks, hoping it was stopping time. I was shocked to see it was the eighth when I took the time to look. And now it is the tenth. And I am panicking as to what to gift my mother-in-law. But that is not what we are here to talk about today.

Blogging in the midst of this season is kind of difficult. I will still try to post daily, but if a day is skipped or if it is an influx of daily outfit posts, I apologize. I never meant for this blog to be so focused on clothing. Outfit posts are simply the easiest. And easy is my favorite right now. However, tomorrow I have a recipe post going up and Friday I have a post I find humorous. Saturday will be a littlest accessory I have been loving right now…

Nineteen months of blogging! Thank you all for your encouragement. Your presence. Being you. I cannot express how much of a joy it has been to meet all of you. Now that I am on Instagram, it has been even more fun to see some of your faces. Thank you for letting me into your lives.

Time is passing so quickly. I had no idea what I wanted to give away this month. I meant to go out and actually pick something up, but then I stayed at home and read three books instead. I have not been to any stores. Not an Anthropologie. Not a Nordstrom Rack. Or a World Market. Not even a Target. In weeks.

I should change my blog’s name to Doesn’t Ever Leave The House, Not Ever, Unless We Run Out Of Pringles Salt And Vinegar Chips. But that would be too long. And giving away a case of salt and vinegar chips seems extreme, even for me.

So, let’s keep it simple.

This month I am giving away a $25 e-gift card to Anthropologie. Because even though I have not purchased anything there in a few weeks (although I know without a doubt I am purchasing this jacket soon), they remain my favorite store.

It must have been a bug. We named him Murphy because we missed out on a dog on a Bichon Frisé rescue site named Murphy. The rescuers told us they had another dog that would be perfect for us. He was a rescue they had named Ryder a few weeks earlier. He had been left to starve in a foreclosure. He weighed less than ten pounds when we adopted him and now he weighs twenty two. We renamed him Murphy, because we loved that name from the first dog and that was that.
