Blue And White Easy Summer

This outfit is pretty boring. Jeans, top, the end (Oh! And a bandaid, but we’re going to pretend it is not there). But I wore it. And so it is here amongst the other outfits.

I purchased this Bea Embroidered Blouse two summers ago at Anthropologie when it hit sale (slightly similar blouses on sale here and here). The embroidery beckoned to me.

Um, what do you think of my prop?

I grabbed the flowers from my house on the way out the door.

My husband said, “What are you doing?”

And I said, “I thought these flowers would be pretty with this top for the pictures. You know, a prop.”

To which he replied, “Whoa, slow down. I don’t think we’ve graduated to props yet.”

Which sounds funny and made me grab them anyway.

This picture is awful.

Let’s blame the prop, shall we?

But I wanted to show the pretty ruffles on the sides of the shirt.

My husband had been wanting to take pictures in front of this ivy covered wall for quite awhile. Hmmmmm. Isn’t that kind of a prop? How do you graduate to props anyway? Who hands out the diploma? Does the diploma hand out itself?

Fashion blogging is so confusing.

  1. Sometimes, the simpliest outfits are the best – you can’t go wrong with jeans and a great top! I agree on the props….. I have tried a few times in the past, but not sure how successful I was. It’s hard to get that “i’m effortlessly holding this Starbucks” look, but so fun to experiment with. The flowers are lovely!

    • That is so true! I see bloggers with their coffee cups and it just does not feel like me. I would love to look so effortless. I hardly ever wear jeans, especially in the summer, but I wanted to show that pretty top. : )

      Thank you for the compliments.

      Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. And this is probably why I don’t blog. I am such a rule follower and if the rules aren’t clearly defined … well, then I am a wreck.
    ;-p

You are a cutie patootie in these pictures (as always).

    • Thank you Brynne! I am a rule follower, too… Up until a certain point. If it does not matter in the grand scheme of things then I will cross the line (like when I snuck into line at Comic Con last year to meet George R.R. Martin). If the consequence is not great and the reward is plentiful, I will always take the risk.

I hope you are having and continue to have a great weekend!

  3. Oh … and just noticed that you have a VERY cool, mysterious, Mona Lisa type smile going on in this last picture. It is awesome!

    • Thanks Brynne. That is totally not on purpose. I do not know why my smiles come out as smirks sometimes. ; )

      Have a lovely evening!

    • Awww. Thank you! I love that top. The outfit is not exciting but I had to include it because my husband was so excited about that wall. : ).

I hope your weekend is beautiful!

    • Thank you Liana! : ). The other day my husband wanted me to use an old rusty hoe as a prop at my dad’s house. I didn’t use it, but he sure changed his tune quickly. ; )

      Have a lovely evening!

  4. Excellent use of your prop!
Fashion blogging is sooooo confusing. I had a long conversation with Freddy last night about what kind of blog I even am. Not really fashion, Not really cats. Not really sure where to promote it. I do love doing it though!
Btw, you look super smokin’ hot in your jeans!

    • Thanks Cynthia. The funny thing is, I am definitely not a fashion blogger. I only post outfit pictures twice a week. I do not know what to even call my blog. Random, I guess. I agree. It is hard to figure out blogging.

And thank you about the jeans! Especially since you look so great in yours! : )

      Have a fun evening!

    • Thank you! After that prop I have not tried again. Although, I have added gnomes. Do those count? : )

      Sweet dreams!

  5. Adorable top, I LUV embroidery too! It just says summer to me! I think you can use props anytime you want, you’re ready (though not sure you have to graduate to that?!)! I also love ivy covered walls & I agree that’s a kind of prop too!
    🙂 rebecca

    • Thank you Rebecca! I have not used a prop since that day, but maybe soon. ; ). I am an embroidery nut. I cannot get enough!

      Have a lovely week!
