It’s The Little Things: Phone Camera Lenses

I never knew these existed. Did you? But I read about them last month on A Beautiful Mess here. They compared different photo lenses for phone cameras. Some of the ones they showed were expensive. I knew as much as they intrigued me, I probably would not be indulging in them. But they also showed a pack of lenses for sale at Amazon for less than $10. They are the VicTsing 3in1 Lens. I thought it would be fun to play around with them.

Spoiler: I was right! So, so right!

Duh! ; )

This is what the three lenses (that really does not sound like a word. Does it?) look like. There is the fish-eye lens and the macro/wide view lens. The macro and wide view lens screw together. To use the wide view, you keep them together. To use the macro (super close-up), you unscrew them and attach only that one.

This is what a lens looks like attached to my phone (I have an iPhone 5).

This one is my favorite. I think. I really love them all. It is the fisheye lens. It makes everything look distorted. I think it is so cool! This is sweet Ollie using the fisheye lens.

This is a selfie. I am on my knees (in case you were wonderin’). Probably beggin’ for clothes.

Or a cookie.

This is the same spot with the wide angle lens. You can definitely tell the difference.

And here is the macro lens. A flower petal in our house.

Because why wouldn’t I?

Here it is without the macro lens attached. It is a definite difference.

It’s the little things: getting more uses from something you all ready own!

I hardly ever use my camera on my phone. But now with these easy lenses, I can take fun pictures anywhere I am. These lenses will fit easily into any purse I own. I am thrilled with this cheap little indulgence. I am going to buy a pack for my daughter, too. They are a cool little gift.

Have you heard of these? Have you tried them? Do you use your phone’s camera?

* I was not paid for this post. I purchased the lenses myself, because I really wanted to try them. However, the link provided is an affiliate link. Purchasing through that link will provide a small commission for this blog. I will never write a post about something I have not purchased myself or that I would purchase for myself. As in anything I review, your experience may vary. I am not a professional photographer and I tried to use the lenses to the best of my ability. And my ability… it ain’t much. ; ).

Is There Something On My Back?

Yes! Mothers Do Have Eyes In The Back Of Their…Backs?

As you can see (he he), it was hard to come up with an appropriate title for this post. There were so many. So many ways to perturb and confuse be a dork.

I love this wrap by Mara Hoffman. It is called Eye Shawl on most sites (them obviously having decided that it did not need an appropriate punny title. Grown-ups. Seriously, how hard would it have been to add two words? Eye Shawl Be Back. Three puns in one! Oh, the missed cringes opportunities). I scored mine for a very fair price from Anthropologie (they called it Maricopa Wrap ) when it went on sale.

I had watched it and watched it. I would show my husband its picture and exclaim that our love affair would never happen. It was out of my league. And then repeat daily. My husband loved that part.

And now she’s here! And I love her. And she obviously loves me. I mean just look how she’s hanging on me. Humboldt would never give me such love.

I felt a very spiritual connection to this wrap. Yes. In a weird way. In a good way. But this wrap brings me peace. Really fun peace.

Do you have any eyedeas for the teyetle? Any other eyedeas on how to sty-le it? Seriously, Eye need them. Don’t be jealous of meye creativity, but Eye have worn it with a black shirt, too. Meye ingenuity never seeses to annoy agaze.

* P.S. Eye shared this on The Pleated Poppy!

My Christmas Wishlist

20131129-175708.jpg

For Christmas, I like to “ask” for things I would not normally buy myself. Things like a nice bag, a piece of jewelry, or an interesting accessory (such as a magic shawl to ward evil spirits away). It feels more special this way.

Spoiler: I have ordered all of these items for my husband to give me. I guess I was a very, very, very good girl this year. ; ). And everything was purchased on sale. ‘Cause even Santa (which is definitely not me) has a budget.

The Maricopa Wrap from Anthropologie. This also goes by the name of Eye Shawl from Mara Hoffman. I love this wrap more than anything. I could not believe I was able to score it for such a great sale price (half off plus an extra 20% off and free shipping). Alpaca is not cheap. I cannot wait to get it as a present. I have not seen this in person, I had my husband hide it from me when it came. Thanks honey!

Tara Saddle Boots. I feel very sophisticated in these boots. I could not believe their sale price. I had to try them on to make sure the size was right. They are pretty uncomfortable, so I know I will need to get a gel insert for them. They make every outfit seem more romantic and feminine. I love these! Under the tree they go!

20131129-175809.jpg

The Ankaa Necklace from Anthroplogie. I am not a jewelry girl. What I mean is, I am not a “nice” jewelry girl. I like costume jewelry. Not the real deal. I get bored too quickly. I do not want to spend a ton of money on a piece and feel obligated to wear it all of the time. However, this piece is so nice I cannot wait to wear it. It will go with almost everything in my closet.

20131129-175739.jpg

For our house, the Handira Blanket is so gorgeous. I LOVE this! I have had it in my wishlist since it first appeared months ago. He bought it in blue for me for almost 75% off. He said it matched my eyes. Or that is what I would imagine he will say when he learns he bought it for me.

20131129-175637.jpg

Finally, every year, I like to get one new bag. I patiently waited for the Paisley Cutout Satchel to make it to sale. Once it did (75%), I shipped it to our house. I had my husband open the package and inspect the bag for defects. I have not seen this bag in person yet, but I am sure it will be great!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband (he knows, because I am horrible at keeping secrets). But, who are we kidding, I have been wanting this for years. I cannot wait to make my grandma’s honey ice cream (with my dad’s honey) in this. This was a deal that could not be beat at Amazon.

What have you asked for this year for the holidays? Are you as bad good as I am and just buy it for yourself?
