NOW CLOSED 23rd Blog Giveaway: $25 Urban Outfitters e-Gift Card

This giveaway is now closed. Thank you to all who entered!

I love February. It is a quick month. A month of possibilities. In California you never know what February will look like. It is quite typically cold, but this month has been uncharacteristically warm. I feel for everyone dealing with the cold weather. If it is any consolation, so many of us Californians are getting sick because of the fluctuations in the weather. My daughter is home sick today.

For this month’s giveaway I am giving away a $25 e-gift card to Urban Outfitters. I have been pleasantly surprised by their fun and affordable options this last month. No, the jumpsuit I mentioned in this post that I ordered did not work out, but it resulted in a funny moment with my husband. I like their cheap shoes that are 2 for $20. I had some changes happen in January that led me to explore myself a little more. I am trying a few new things this month. And I am letting go of others. More on this later.

To enter this giveaway for a chance to win a $25 e-gift card, please answer the following question:

What has been the best thing to happen to you so far in this new year? This year has been hard so far but I am trying to look at the positives. Mine would be last Friday night when my family stayed in and watched a movie after going to Slater’s 50/50. It was the most perfect evening. One of those memories that will stay with me forever even though it was so simple. It was just loving and nice.

  1. Hi Jenni! The best memory I have so far is showing my daughter the ocean for the very 1st time! We visited Tampa for my MIL’s 80th birthday & went to the beach one day. My son had been to Florida when he was 1, so he was pretty excited to see it too as he don’t really remember it. Such a simple thing, yet for these midwestern kids it was amazing 🙂 thanks for the giveaway!

  2. My best memory in a so-far rough year was my grandma getting out of the hospital. We would have loved for her to come home rather than be in hospice/assisted care, but at least she seems much happier now.

  3. So far my favorite thing about this year has been cancelling directv. Sounds silly, but we decided to go with netflix instead and my kids have gotten such a kick out of it that we’ve spent almost every night cuddled up together watching something super fun together. Thanks for the chance for the gift card! I love your blog and your style is one I’m striving to incorporate more into my yoga pant and sweatshirt one 🙂

  4. I’m sorry your New Year has been hard so far. I liked hearing about your nice family night together. Those nights are balm for the soul!

The highlight of my year so far is being extra productive on all our house projects. On January 1st my husband and I made a master goal list for the year, and so far I’m on track! It feels so good to get stuff done! 😉

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. I agree, this year has been hard so far. My oldest has been getting into trouble at school and it’s been so frustrating. What I have loved though, is that we are making a renewed effort to pray together as a family. It’s so sweet to hear my children praying for each other. Love it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. Thanks for the giveaway Jenni! You are so sweet to do these 🙂
2015 has gotten off to a rough start…January and February haven’t been the best, but my best friend is coming at the end of the month and I am looking forward to that very much! Also, crossing my fingers for a wonderful March! Hope you and your family have a much better rest of the month as well ♥

  7. So far the best thing has been watching my 4 year old son make it (hiking) to the top of one of the local mountains all by himself! (I mean, obviously with us accompanying him, but self-propelled). It was so fun watching him stick it out and make it to the top!

  8. Best memory from this year so far? My lady cop friend came to visit us from Norway, and we had three lovely days together, but the moment that really stands out? When she told me that I have to let her know when I get pregnant, because she’s trying too, and she wants us to be pregnant together! It was such a sweet moment, it just melted me completely. 🙂

Oh, and for the record, I went and looked at your Ceramics Teacher Post, and that midi linen dress would’ve looked so good on you! I know what you mean, I’ve been gravitating towards a different style lately as well, though for me it’d be a more “slouchy hipster tomboy, only with bangs and long hair” kinda look… 😉

  9. this year i have finally successfully made the perfect brownies! i know it sounds silly but every time i made them before they were horrible and it was so aggrivating, so when i made them right i was so relieved lol

  10. Best moment so far in 2015 was when my husband of 28 years gave me his coat last week when I was cold. He insisted he didn’t need it, even though he was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. We were going for a walk. I thought that was so very sweet. I’m still glad I married him, all these years later.

  11. We are suffering w/ the same weather fluctuations in arizona too, & have all been sick a bunch. Cold in the mornings, then mid ’80s in the afternoons! I want to enjoy some more cold, & cold weather clothes while it’s still technically winter, I guess we’ll see! I think the best time is that as a family we watched the 3 hobbit movies together, then the 3 lord of the rings movies together. We have under 2 hrs left. We’ve just watched them a couple hours at a time & it’s been a really fun family thing!

I hope your February is better than jan & I’m interested to hear about what new things you’ve tried & what you’ve let go too! I’ve loved your posts lately, but it’s been so busy I haven’t had the chance to comment. Grace’s softball practices started last week….3 times a week, UGH, more craziness to our schedules!

  12. Best memory this year so far is my sister coming to visit me for a week. We live 500 miles apart and don’t get to see each other very often, so it was a treat to have 7 uninterrupted days together after the holidays. She really is my best friend.

  13. Thanks for doing these giveaways!

My favorite memory so far has been my daughter’s excitement when she realized a rabbit had nibbled the carrot nose off her snowman. The yard is now decorated with carrots and I am curious as to how many we are supporting through the winter (guess we will find out when we try to get our garden going this summer)!

  14. oh for sure the best thing that has happened for me this year is taking my daughter up to college…getting her all moved in…seeing her thrive in an amazing, academic environment 🙂

  15. I hope you and your family are feeling better soon. One of the things that made me really happy this year was going to MOMA by myself. I was nervous about it but I had an absolutely fantastic time. I didn’t think I could do it, but I did. There were more people on just one floor of the museum than the entire town I grew up in.

  16. I feel like I am just getting my momentum going in 2015 and we are half way through Feb! We had 2 unexpected snows days on a Monday and Tuesday, so we got an extra long weekend and I really enjoyed everyone at home, all day jammies and lots of movies!

  17. Best thing so far this year: going skiing with my dog! He gets cold very easily so he doesn’t get to ski with us very often. The weird weather we’ve been having this year makes for not great skiing, but I do get to take my dog and he loves it.

  18. Hi Jenni, You’re so sweet to do a giveaway. February is my least favorite month, I’m glad it’s a short one. I have two favorite things this year: a date my husband and I had with his niece. We took her to her first hockey game and ate at a brand new grilled cheese bistro. All of us had a blast! Then that same week my mom, sister and I went to see The Phantom of the Opera. It was a beautiful memory to share together.

I hope your year is lovely from here on out!

  19. the best thing (by far) for me was having my baby! (hes currently 2 weeks old). i just love watching him grow and watching my husband be a daddy. it warms my heart 🙂 thanks for hosting this awesome giveaway, by the way!

  20. The best thing that has happened to me so far this year was definitely catching up with one of my old best friends who I haven’t seen in almost 8 years! It was nice to see that we were still as close as ever despite the time we’ve spent apart. Friendship is always stronger than distance!
