It’s The Little Things: The Sweetest Embroidered Hooks

Sometime in August, Anthropologie sent me a 20% off code to use in their store for completing a survey they sent me. I spotted these embroidered hooks and I knew they would be perfect towel holders in my Otomi inspired bathroom. I like to mix quirky embroidered pieces with the animal patterned walls.

I purchased three out of the four. They arrived and were smaller than I had anticipated. But I loved them so much. Here is a quarter next to them so you can get a good idea of the size.

We had to buy the screws for them. They did not come with any.

I think they really complete the bathroom. They make me ridiculously happy.

They might, perhaps, be my most favorite things I have ever purchased from Anthropologie. And that is saying a lot. They are vintage looking. Outlandish. Fun. And completely go with our house.

I think I would have to fight Phoebe from Friends for them.

I would win.

And Monica would have to clean up the mess.

Then Joey would come up to me and say, “How you doin’?” And I would forget all about my perfect hooks. Which is just what Rachael was hoping for.

Could that be any more accurate?

Ahem.

It’s the little things: finding the perfect small little thing to complete a room. Or just small fuzzy animal faces. They would make anyone happy.

Even Ross.

Have you added anything small to your home lately? Do you have any embroidered pieces? Please share. I would love to hear about it. Don’t worry about Phoebe trying to steal them. I’ve got your back… “I’ll be there for you.”

  1. They are so cute and fit in perfectly with your bathroom. The other week I scored a large cream crochet vintage fringed bedspread/throw rug from the op shop for $10. this made me happy as it fits in perfectly with my cottage style house.

    • That is such an awesome score! I would have been thrilled with that! $10 is almost free!

Thank you for the compliment, too! : )

      Have a great week!

  2. So, apparently this past Monday was the 20th (yes I’m so old bc I watched the very first episode prime time, was hooked, & watched every episode from then on! And, rewatch episodes whenever I catch them on!) anniversary of the first friends episode, & there was a marathon of fav episodes…..I happily sat, eating junk food, & watched prob 4 hours worth! It was what I needed, wonderful, happy, comedic relief! And though I’ve seen every episode, multiple times probably, I laughed out loud! It was great! So I love your friends reference in this post!
    Have a great weekend! :)rebecca

    • I missed that on Monday! Darn! I usually watch Friends three or four times a week. That sounds like a wonderful afternoon! I definitely would have joined you! I am glad you liked my reference. : ). Thank you.

      Have a super week!

  3. Those are so cute, and definitely what I would associate with your style.

I bought a fox door knocker from Anthro and have yet to hang it because it also did not come with screws.

    • I know that fox knocker! I am so jealous! I hope you take pictures after you hang it. I also wish they would include hardware. For the prices charged hardware should be included. Thank you for the compliments, too! : )

      Have a wonderful week!

  4. I want to come live in your bathroom. I love it! I have not added anything to our apartment lately. I am hoping that we will move out of it soon so I keep taking things away to Goodwill.

    • Aw, thank you Cynthia! I need to go donate more stuff. Thanks for the reminder! I have a pile waiting to go. I always give to Angelview. They are always so grateful for the stuff.

      Have a terrific Tuesday!

  5. How darling! Not just the hooks, but the whole of your bathroom decor. Your decorating style reminds me so much of my grandparents’. They traveled so much in their middle age and brought back quirky, whimsical, folksy pieces from all of their travels. Their home is such a mix of curiosities, embroidered doodads, and colorful wall art from all over the world. What was so surprising to me was that on my visit to Scotland and touring these estates and castles, so much of the decor mirrored that of my grandparents’ home. Such an eclectic mix. A lot of Asian influence. A lot of chintz. Elaborate rugs, embroidered wall hangings, art featuring lush flora and fauna, etc. It’s my grandfather on that side who is Scottish, so I wonder if his childhood home was decorated in much the same way. Or, did he travel to Scotland, see these same estates, and take inspiration from them? Or is it just a coincidence? I have to ask him! Seeing these photos put a smile on my face because it took me back to their cottage up north and their museum of artifacts and whimsies. 🙂

    • I love that! Thank you Liz! The trouble with me is that I all ready have a lifetime of stuff jammed into our home with hopefully just half a lifetime behind me. I am trying to be better. I actually went to Costco today and stuck to the list! When does that ever happen?!

      Have a sweet Tuesday!

  6. Whoa, those hooks were made to fit your bathroom! They’d never fit in ours – our bathroom looks a little bit like a trashy hotel bathroom – we have glitterballs!! and lace-patterned tiles on one wall!! – but we wanted it that way! 😉 Good on you for getting those for free (or mostly for free), I know you’re having to watch your pennies this month so that makes it extra awesome!

    • Lace patterned tiles?! That sounds awesome! I cannot wait to see pictures!

I only got 20% off. But that is okay. They are perfect. And I ended up buying a few things anyways. Which is fine. I was very thrifty with eating out this month. It all works out.

Have a great rest of the week!

    • Thank you Heather. They are so cool. I hope you get some. I think they are a good price for such a different item.

      Happy Wednesday!
