This giveaway is now closed. Future entries will not be counted. Thank you to all who entered! I will contact the winner on 9/17/2014.

I cannot believe it has been eighteen months. And yet, I can. I was going through a blog burnout last week. I found it incredibly difficult to write posts and take pictures. It happens. I did not realize how hard it would hit me to have two kids not in elementary school. It has led to some pretty depressing days, in which it is all I can do to get through the day. Let alone make a funny blog post. I did not remember to mourn the holding of the hands in public, the walking to the school gate, the different types of snacks I can no longer put in lunches. It was a bigger transition than I had initially thought. Harder. And my soul and creativity felt drained.

But enough about that.

Thank you all for seeing me through this last week. Hopefully this sadness will pass. I, myself, am on a clothing shopping ban for September, because of the bounty I purchased in August. But that does not mean you have to be! This month, I decided to giveaway a gift card to one of my favorite stores, Nordstrom Rack.

Nordstrom Rack is the place I go to for most of my Free People items. They always tend to have the clothes I want for cheaper than those online discount shopping sites. And I love them for that. In fact, just Saturday I posted about my new sandals I recently purchased there. This Saturday, my post will cover the bralettes I have found discounted there. My friend got a pair of boots there a few months ago for $1. I am jealous of that one.

  1. Oh Jennie, I am sorry for the transition you are going through. I cannot even imagine what it’s like! I agree, it’s easy to get in a blog rut too no matter what is going on.

We should get some cooler weather this week, and I am anxious to bust out my flowy cardigans and boots for some more non-maternity wear fun!

  2. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been down – I’ve been going through a bit of the same thing. Ugh. It’s horrible!

I’m most looking forward to wearing some sort of long sleeve item, jeans and boots! It’s been 97 here as long as I can remember (south Texas) and I’m itching to put away my skirts and shorts and wear pants πŸ™‚

    Have a great day!

  3. I’m looking forward to wearing that Free People Lace Boxy Tee Top that I found at Nordstrom Rack for $1!!! It’s been too hot here in Kansas to even wear anything with sleeves so I can’t wait to wear this inexpensive find! It’s peachy in color so I plan on wearing it with a rust colored shrug cardigan for fall! Happy 18 months!

  4. I follow you via bloglovin!

I can empathize with the mourning of those little things with the kids…and mine are only 3 & 5!! My 3 yr old actually let me rock her before nap the other day & I almost shed a few tears, rocking hasn’t happened in a looong time. I asked her if she’d still let me tock her when she’s15. She said yes, so I’m sure I can plan on it πŸ™‚ haaaa

  5. I love wearing my variety of wool and other winter caps and everyone says I am a hat person so I must look cute:-) I wanted to tell you shopgoodwill.com has some clothes and new with tag stuff from some of the designers you showcase on your blog. I know you are I to antique looking things, check it out just watch some of the shipping charges….

  6. I am looking forward to wearing boots and cardigans/sweater! I got a bunch on super clearance this spring and have not gotten to wear them! Fall is my VERY favorite season, so any fall gear makes me happy!

  7. I can’t wait to start wearing my comfy fleece lined tights again. Good old fashioned ones (that aren’t the footless leggings type) are hard to find! Anthropologie used to carry some really awesome ones, but when looking for cheapy camp flip flops this summer I found fleece lined tights at… Payless (yes, Payless!) They were super cheap and the lining is so cozy! I bought all 3 pairs they had, like some stock piling tights freak. In the summer. With 100 degree weather going on outside. Ha!

  8. Hi Jenni, Thank you for this awesome giveaway. I hate that you’ve had a sad back to school start, it’s hard watching children grow up. It’s so cool that you’ve been able to document so many great moments with them just through your blog alone.

Autumn is my favorite time of year. I live in coastal VA so it doesn’t tend to really feel like fall until the of October, but I seriously feel my mood improve as the season changes. I also have the FP Miles of Henley dress, (because of you) and I adore it. I guess I’m most excited to wear tights and boots. I can’t think of any dresses that don’t look great with boots.

    Have a great day!

  9. I’m a knitter and I’m most looking forward to wearing some of my handknit sweaters and accessories. Of course, I could find a little something-something at Nordstrom Rack to go with all my knit goods πŸ™‚ Great giveway – thanks so much!!

  10. Sorry to hear you had a down week. Sending you some big hugs! And my pug sends a kiss. She is mushy like that. Don’t worry, she doesn’t have bad breath. We brush her teeth every night.

    No joke.

Honestly I’m not ready for summer to leave and I’m holding on with a death grip and refusing to think about wearing any fall/winter clothes. I’m the one in the neighbourhood walking around in a bikini, hoping I will fool Mother Nature.

So far, some of my neighbour’s husbands think it is a great idea.

    bisous
    Suzanne

  11. Looking forward to wearing my Modena shift (bought it on sale last year but didn’t get the chance to wear it), along with tights, a chunky knit scarf and boots. And a pumpkin spice latte in hand! We have already had snow here (luckily it didn’t stay), so it’s feeling like fall already!

  12. I’m looking forward to wearing tall boots–I finally own both black and brown tall boots simultaneously, so I’ll be able to choose from a more versatile color palette. Unfortunately I’ve also moved to a place with no seasons, so it’ll be a few months yet before my boots get much wear.

  13. I am looking forward to wearing all the cute sweaters I picked up on sale last year from Anthro! I didn’t get much of a chance to wear them when I bought them so I am super excited to do so this fall.

  14. Thanks for this giveaway! I’m looking forward to brisk Autumn weather and finally getting to whip out some Irish knit Aran sweaters from the 1960s that I keep collecting!

  15. Thank you for another giveaway! I have enjoyed every post. I can’t believe it has been 18 months. Wow. Hang in there. It is okay to write some sad posts too. Reading your posts is one of the highlights of my day.

I am excited to wear my snow leopard dress from J Crew again.

  16. I have an eleventh grader this year – that’s ALARMING!

I’m looking forward to wearing my new cashmere sweater that has beaded eyes & lips on it (kooky & awesome).

  17. Hi, Jenni, I feel the same way. My daughter is a freshman. And i am already worrying about how fast the four years is going to go by.
I am looking forward to wearing some of my booties. It has been so hot, I have only been wearing sandals and flip flops.

  18. Hi Jen,
I’m a follower of your blog and I subscribe.
I’m looking forward to wearing some cute long sleeved shirts I have and some vests. I’m looking for a change of cooler weather so I can wear other clothing

  19. So sorry to hear that back-to-school has been a challenge. My kids are growing up too. I have loved the 18 months of reading your blog.

I’m looking forward to skirts with boots. I love Fall!! Looking forward to hot chocolate more than fall clothes though. Thanks!

  20. I am super excited about getting to wear my pink Tracy Reese coat from Anthropologie circa at least 5 years ago. It’s still my favorite thing in my wardrobe!

  21. Well does it count that I am actually not looking forward to wearing anything in the fall! I love flowy summer dresses and strappy bras and I’m not really looking forward to fall and especially the very cold winter here that I am not used to! I suppose if I have to pick one thing maybe boots!

  22. Hi Jenni,
Hope you’re feeling better. I’m looking forward to wearing boots and scarves again.
Congrats on 18 months and thanks for the giveaway entry, Angela

  23. I am looking forward to wearing my boots, but know that I will be over boots already by December and will be looking forward to wearing anything that isn’t practical in the snow!

  24. Nordstrom Rack and Free People are the best. I’m looking forward to wearing my peacoat. That never goes out of style, right? πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the chances!

  25. OOOHHHH best gift card ever! Bc Nord rack is prob my fav, “expensive” store! I am looking forward to wearing long sleeves, with scarves, & jean or leggings & all my boots! You know I love boots! Sorry, not one specific clothing item, but a bunch! Bc it’s so hot here I can’t wait for colder weather clothes!
:)Happy days to you! Sorry the kiddos new ages in school hit you so hard. We all have those unexpected times of sadness from change. I’ve also experienced times when I don’t feel like writing a blog post or just don’t feel creative or funny enough either. That’s just life I suppose. I hope you’re feeling better & just know it happens & it probably will again, but you’ll get past it again!
    :)Rebecca

  26. I’m looking forward to wearing boots. I live in FL, so I don’t get to wear them very often, which makes them so very special to me.
