Before the blasted heat wave hit California, we were enjoying gorgeous, beautiful weather. The kind of weather that made you feel like all of the taxes were worth it. The gentle breeze just blew them away.
I decided to get one last wear out of my overalls (previously shown here and here) before the sweltering heat began. I think these overalls have sold out, but I am also lovin’ the Free People Railroad Printed Overall.
I adore yellow and black together. This obviously having nothing what so ever to do with growing up on an apiary.
Nothing makes a day better than getting love from a dog. He is my gentle giant.
The top is from Anthropologie last year. It has hedgehogs all over it. It is sold out but Modcloth always has amazing printed shirts in their online store. I have my eye on this and this.
Are you ready for the heat? Have you been wearing overalls or gotten nuzzled by a monster? Trust me that doing both will make your cares go away. Or at the very least, doing both will guarantee that the drool from the messy-but-sweet creature will be confined to just one article of clothing.

Very cute outfit Jenni! I haven’t tried overalls in so long….. I saw some maternity ones – hmmmm, maybe I’ll be brave enough to try them. I just love critter tops too!
Thanks Heather. Oh my gosh! I love overalls on pregnant women. So much. I am so bummed I never got to wear them then. I had always wanted to wear them. Critter tops are my favorite, too. I wish they would come out with some more of them!

You match Ollie perfectly. Both of you look wonderful! I had missed your puppies. P.S. I call the drool “bully kisses.” I look down at my pants legs and see them sometimes, hoping no one else noticed but very grateful for the love.

I don’t know how you are coping down there with all of the ash in the air. LA has brown air and I am having an allergic reaction to it. I really don’t think I am sick. I am simply allergic to brown air.
Thank you so much Cynthia. I hope you are feeling better. We only had the smoke for one day. I volunteered at the school that day and the kids were all covering their faces. They cancelled outside lunch and recess because of the poor air quality. I cannot imagine how bad Los Angeles must have been with bad air quality all ready.
Murphy jumps on my husband every night. It is actually quite comical! : )

I pulled out my sweaters this weekend. I was hoping to pull out shorts…but to no avail! I am glad that you got to use your overalls one last time! I hope all is well. I know you have had a rough couple of weeks. Hope everything is working out!

Have not worn overalls in a while, but I have definitely gotten nuzzled by a monster (with 4 legs and a little nubby tail). My new boy Rocky looks a lot like your Ollie.
Oh! I love the name! I bet he is irresistible. There is just something about those sweet pleading eyes that make me melt. I don’t even care about drool or dog hair. Isn’t that what a good life is made of? I cannot get enough.

Awe…I love the hedgehogs! And the little monster! Yep, things are definitely heating up here too. Gone are the cute layers and pretty hair. It’s all about wearing the least amount of clothes you can get away with and sweaty everything. Yay summer :-\

Ooh, overalls with boots – never thought of putting those two pieces together but on you, it totally works! And are those cuties porcupines on your top?!
Thank you Lisa! They are close. I actually, I like porcupines better. I will never forget the porcupine I saw at the zoo once. He stood up on two legs walked over to the door of his cage… And opened it!!! Crazy smart! And so cute. Hedgehogs are cute too, but my heart belongs to the porcupine.

This top and those overalls – so adorable, and so YOU! You must have been melting with the overalls tucked into boots, though – wouldn’t those overalls look cute with sandals, too? I’m almost sad to see them go into storage, haha. 😉

Thanks Gwen. It was really cool that day so the boots were good. The overalls are corduroy so they would be miserable in the summer. They all ready have holes. They definitely would have more because I would rip them off. : ). We were lucky. The air was only bad for one day here. I feel so badly for those people who lost their homes.
