Winner Of The Floral Necklace Giveaway and Stuff

Congratulations to Liana! She won the beautiful floral necklace courtesy of The Peacock Fairy. I think it is so gorgeous. Enjoy! I am so happy for her. Liana is such a sweet girl. You can get to know her better at The Frock and the Hound.

Thank you to all who entered. Heather and I appreciate it. So much.

This is the time of the month where I usually list my cravings, but I have a problem.

I am kind of over “stuff” this month. What I am really craving this month is more organization. Especially with summer sneaking up on me. I do not want to be overwhelmed with clutter.

But I am the least organized person I know.

And I love clutter.

So I’m in a bit of a rut.

I thought I would share some things I have all ready purchased in the last two months. Unfortunately everything I had wanted for months hit sale (Frangipani Top) or became available after a long wait. This means that I have not even been looking at shopping sites this week. I have been lovin’ on my current closet additions plus restyling some oldies. I also have a pile of clothes to dry clean and sell soon. My style has changed a bit since I first lost the weight, so I want to just keep what reflects the current “me.”

That counts as organizing, right?

My Spring Clothing Purchases:

I was finally able to snag the Free People Mix Print Tunic. It is everything I hoped it would be. I love this top.

20140516-205711.jpg

Forever 21 Floral Kimono. I plan on wearing this over my Free People peach maxi slip and also over all of my sleeveless white dresses this summer. This is sold out online. It was also sold out in our store. But if you have it in a store near you, I highly recommend it. Especially as it is less than $20.

This Vintage Skirt from Etsy. It is a Mexican Blanket Skirt. So rad. I have worn it with it with a silver cuff, silver coin necklace, silver sandals, and day drifter denim tee.

20140516-205840.jpg

A simple tee from Forever 21. I can also wear this with the above skirt. Although, I will probably pair it with my Duggar Skirt. And tons of bohemian jewelry.

20140516-205914.jpg

A wooden ring. I know I am breaking the rules, because this is not clothing. But since I made the rules, I think I can let it slide. I love this! I waited for it to go on sale and happily purchased it when it did. I have realized that almost all of the jewelry I am drawn to on Anthropologie is made by the artist, Pam Hiran.

Anthropologie Savant Dress (squee! It finally hit sale!). I waited months and months for this dress to go on sale. And I am so glad I did. It looks so cute with my vintage boots, the ring mentioned above, and the necklace The Peacock Fairy gifted me.

Modcloth Sea the Light Skirt (I’ve worn it over my green Colima Skirt. It is so good! Modcloth has a similar skirt to the Colima Maxi here). This skirt is almost sold out. All of the reviews say it runs big, but I took a medium and it fit fine.

I love this dress I recently purchased with a gift card from my sweet mom. It is really incredibly short but I am working that out. Because I love the overall fit and tiny details.

Thank you Mom!

My family gifted me these Tall Gladiator Sandals for Mother’s Day (we got them 20% off). I really needed a new laptop, but practicality has never been my strong suit. So, I shall continue to type these posts one handed.

Totally worth it. ; )

They also gifted me these. Um, what do you think these gifts ssshhhhhaaaAy about me?

Do you have any cravings you want to share? Has anything caught your eye this month?

  1. I would totally pick a gift of shoes over a laptop. I think….Maybe not, since I want a new iPad. 🙂

Spring is always a time when i want to declutter, but it always seems to backfire on me – the more I get rid of, the more I take in. I have these grand plans of living simply, and it never really happens…

    • I know. Spring is when I want to declutter, too. But then I get overwhelmed. I love the idea of living simply but then I love being able to choose one of my many butter dishes to hold butter for homemade bread. There has to be something simplistic about that somewhere, but I know it is not what they mean. I have gotten rid of a lot. Or rather put it in bags that need to be taken to the dry cleaners to sell later. Decluttering is so much harder than cluttering. : )

I will have to pick laptop next time because I imagine I will get more accomplishrd with two hands.

      Definitely next time!

      Have a fabulous weekend!

    • You are so sweet Brynne. I have been thinking of you. I hope you are doing beautifully.

Have a relaxing and delightful weekend!

  2. I love all your purchases. I purchased a pair of crochet shorts and a black lace dress from Forever 21 and I just adore them. They were total surprise. They fit, the shorts are long enough, the dress is flattering. It was a win,and it can be hit or miss there for me! I also got a pair of drapey jogger pants from the Peter Som collection at Kohls and can’t wait to wear those. You grabbed some great stuff this month. I am pretty set on clothes…so I just need to wear what I have and not look so much for popbacks 😉

    • Thanks Alicia! Those clothes sound so cute. I agree that it can be hit or miss. I have been incredibly lucky with more hits than misses lately. Thankfully if it is a miss, my daughter can always find something to buy with my credit. I have not been looking at popbacks at all. I have been trying to just avoid shopping. I have enough. Until I get rid of more, I cannot add more.

Although, I do tend to make more allowances for Forever 21 because the items are so much cheaper.

Thank you for sharing. It has been a tough two weeks and it was nice to read about your purchases.

      Have a jubilant Sunday!

  3. Congrats Liana! I hope you enjoy the necklace! Thanks Jenni for hosting the giveaway, and for everyone entering. Jenni, I just love that mexican blanket skirt, and the tall gladiator sandals! Can’t wait to see how you style all of your Spring pieces.

    • Thanks Heather. And thank you so much for sponsoring the giveaway. You’re the best! I hope yesterday’s jewelry fair went awesome!

I have taken pictures of both items. It is just a matter of posting them. My son might have to have surgery next week so if that happens, there will be a definite blog break. Such a stressful time.

      Thank you again.

  4. Can you please show us pics of you wearing the mexican blanket skirt…That is fantastic!

Also, I would *love* to see the gladiator sandals on! I have been drooling over them since they appeared on the Anthro website and would have purchased them during the 20% off if I hadn’t just purchased a tall gladiator pair from Free People right before they showed up : / Do I need two pairs of tall gladiator sandals…hmm 😉
The Anthro picture with the tunic you got is amazing 🙂 Love it! You have a perfect summer outfit there dear!!

Yay for some awesome goodies 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I am glad you like the items. I moved the tunic and sandals outfit post up to Tuesday for you. : ). But if my son ends up having surgery, I will be taking a break. I will however email you pictures tonight that way you can decide before the free shipping promo is over. : )

I think having two pairs of tall gladiator sandals would depend entirely on their color. If they were the same, than I would not buy more. But if they were a black pair than I would definitely consider it. : )

      Have a happy weekend!

  5. Thanks, Heather! I feel very lucky! I’m looking forward to styling it and will hopefully have outfit posts to share with you soon. Thank you for the beautiful necklace!

    • Hmm. The above comment did not go where I wanted it to go. I had wanted to reply to Heather…

In any case, thank you, Jenni, for the awesome giveaway!

I have a skirt that’s very similar to the modcloth sea the light skirt. I’m curious to see how you style your skirt.

      • Isn’t Heather so sweet?! I am so glad to have met her. I have not taken pictures of that skirt yet. But hopefully I will get to soon. I have a certain setting in mind that is only available to me once a week and only if my husband comes along. And that time is tomorrow and he just informed me he cannot do it. So, it might he awhile. But I am definitely looking forward to styling it!

Congratulations again! I will get it out to you on Monday. : )

        Have a super Sunday!

  6. I enjoy the Frock and the Hound, so congratulations to Liana.
I’m kind of in the mood lately to organize more and buy less. I think it’s because of the changing of the seasons. All of a sudden the weather turned hot, so I have to start digging for summer clothes. I made a point of pulling out some vintage summer clothes and I am forcing myself to wear it even though it’s more fragile than the modern stuff. So good luck on your organizing and I think it’s best to set realistic goals. Like by the end of May I want this and that organized.
    Have a great day,
    Stacey

    • Thanks Stacey. I like how you think. Realistic goals. That is exactly what I need as I am not necessarily a realistic person. I am definitely setting “at the end of May.” I really like that and for whatever the reason, it had not occurred to me to do that.

      Thank you again!

      Have a beautiful Sunday!

      Jenni

  7. I’m not sure which of these things is coolest – it’s a toss-up between that awesome (aweshome) poppy glass and the wooden ring. Pam Hiran is my hero (Hiro?)! Also, that Mexican blanket skirt is to DIE for – you could wear it with that first top, the mixed-print one! And some colourful jewellery!

    • Ha! I love all of the play on words. I wrote the worst story today. Serious rubbish. My son read it and said, “meh.” And I said, “How can I save it?” And he said, “you can’t.” I need your help over here! I worked two hours on it and I do not think it is salvageable.

I love your pattern mixing idea! Genius! I need to write you. It has been a crazy week.

Sweet dreams (or is it good morning?)!

      Jenni
