A Dress And A Cookie

After doing my Anthropologie reviews, I could not get the Caravane Tunic Dress out of my mind. It was all ready half off. It fit all of my sale criteria. It seemed like a no-brainer. Yes, I see the irony there. And so I bought it. I am so glad I did. I adore it. Adore it. Adore… It. I can wear it in the summer with easy flat sandals. In these pictures, I am wearing the Almanac Sandals. In the wintertime, I will pair it with leggings and boots.

The blue is so bright and cheerful in person. Truly lovely.

In my trying out new photo ideas. Trying not to be boring. I decided to pretend to eat a cookie.

Why?

Who knows? I am trying to be more creative. This is definitely going to involve some fails.

Many fails.

And who the heck can pretend to eat a cookie?

Not me.

The dress has gorgeous black and gold buttons on it. The embroidered necklace with my husband and my initials was a Christmas present from my husband in 2012. It can be found here.

* Disclaimer: A cookie was definitely hurt in the making of this post. Brutally. I am not sad to state it did not survive. Its brothers and sisters shared the same fate. Blame it on creativity. This is posted in accordance to the PETC regulations and guidelines.

Though shall not eat thy prop.

P.S. I shared this on The Pleated Poppy!

    • Thank you Sarah! That is so sweet! I am desperately trying not to go into the kitchen and eat a cookie right now. I have whoopie pies I just made!

      Have a lovely week! : )

  1. You always make me so jealous with the cookies you bake. Chocolate chip cookies are one of my most favorite things in the world! I live in So Cal, and I think you do too but I don’t think we live all that close to one another. If we did, I would invite myself over so I could eat some of your cookies. Also, you seem like a cool person too. I wouldn’t just use you for your cookies 😉

    • Thank you Lucy! That is so nice! You would definitely be welcome to a cookie! : ). Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, too. They only last two days in this house. They are my biggest weakness. I promised my daughter I would make her some this week! She has been craving them and I have been working on a whoopie pie post so I have been baking those like crazy!

Thank you again. You made my day!

      Have a fantastic week!

  2. I think one should always eat cookies when posing for a pic. Why didn’t I think of that? Love your blue toes with your silver sandals and blue dress. That dress is perfect for a So Cal spring day!

    • Thank you Cynthia! I am lovin’ seeing your pic in the box when I write you back! : ). So pretty! We have been so lucky with this weather lately. Apparently, we are gearing up for a super hot summer!

      Have a marvelous Monday!

  3. so totally cute! love love love the dress, and love your cute front door!!! so your hubby actually went onto Etsy and bought that? so impressive! such a sweet gift!

    • Thank you Melodee! Ha! He is sweet, but he probably would never order anything off of Etsy by himself. I showed it to him and he ordered it from my computer while the tab was still open. So, I knew about it, told him about it, and got the page ready for him to order. He did wrap it! ; )

      Have a gorgeous week!

    • Thank you Deniz! It is my front door! I love bright colors! : ). They just make me happy. I think this one says, “a gnome lives here.” ; )

      Have a super week!

  4. Love the cookie poses, Jenni! I just received my Caravane Tunic from the sale. I decided on the blue motif too. It’s so bright and cheerful. Mine comes up about an inch shorter on me, so I have not decided whether it’s too short for bare legs. I do love how you styled it with silver shoes.

    • Thank you Melanie! Isn’t that blue the prettiest color in person? I am glad that is the one you chose, too. Jessica from the blog Breakfast At Gigi’s has worn that tunic in her blog recently, too. She is styling it as a tunic with jeans so far. So, it definitely looks cute that way, too. I think it is going to be a hot summer. I have to do bare legs right now. But I will definitely wear it as a tunic in the winter! Please let me know how you end up styling it. I love ideas! : )

Have a gorgeous week! Enjoy your new clothes! : )

    • Thank you Heather!

Oh! Oh the way, there is a new awesome (it is so pretty) hot air balloon necklace at Target right now. The Easter Bunny brought it for my daughter. Which was sweet cause I can wear it, too. ; )

      Have a sweet day!

  5. I love how colorful your house is!! That green door is AMAZING! I like the little gnome guy sneaking into the picture. The dress is super cute on you! The flat sandals look fab with it and I could totally see it transitioning to fall/winter.
The necklace is just the sweetest thing! I hope you had a great Easter!

    • Thank you Alicia! I like color. It just keeps me happy. : )

I am thrilled with this dress. In fact, I am probably wearing it again tomorrow!

Our Easter was great. Well, my husband had to work two shifts that day, so it was as good as that can be. : ). I hope yours was great, too!

I hope you have a terrific week!

      Jenni

  6. ha ha! I wondered to myself, “Why would she just pretend to eat a cookie? Why not just EAT it?” : )

The colour of the dress is lovely on you.

    bisous

    • Thanks Suzanne!

That is a good question. I have no idea as to why I would pretend to eat a cookie! It became moot, because it ended up being me eating it! I cannot resist those things! Oooohhh! I just remembered I still have a half a chocolate chip cookie in the kitchen from Disneyland today.

Now I have to resist it!

      Have a super week!

      Jenni

    • Thank you Amy Ann! I appreciate that! : ). And yes, cookies never hurt anybody (tell that to my thighs please. They don’t believe me!). In fact, I have half a cookie waiting for me at home today!

Thank you for stopping by and for commenting!

      Jenni

    • Thank you Jess! I appreciate that. I probably have too much blue in my closet. It is my favorite color! I cannot stop buying it!

I will definitely stop by! Have a terrific week!

  7. What a gorgeous little blue dress. And that cookie looks yummy and I am hungry, Jenni.

I am wearing Happy Blues (with White) today, also.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!! I am glad you had a Great Easter, Ada. =)

    • Thank you! I just ate my last cookie! : (. Now what? Panic time! : )

I am stopping by right now! UPDATE: your blog will not load for me. : (. Thought you should know.

      Have a cheerful week!

      Jenni

    • Thank you Rachel! Yes, I agree! Although, I recently made a different purchase that was not so great. And that is a bummer, too! At least I can take that one back! :

      Have a happy week!

      Jenni

    • Okay. Things are bad today. I ate THREE of those cookies! And THREE glasses of wine. Must stop! : )

Oh! And thank you for the compliment! : )

      Have a wonderful Friday!

      Jenni

    • Thank you! And thank you for stopping by and commenting. I appreciate it. I will stop by your blog in the morning. : )

      Have a fabulous week!

  8. Would you mind telling me what size you’re wearing? Everything I’ve read says to size down but I can only find this dress available in size small (my usual size)! Thanks!!

    • Hi Emma! I am usually inbetween a small and a medium and I purchased a small. I would say for the $16 current price, I would try the small. It would be a shame to miss out because that is a great deal. It does run big, but I think that is okay.

      I hope that helps!

      Have a great day!

      Jenni

      • I hope you were able to get it! Please let me know how it works out. I hope it fits perfectly! : )

        Have a great day!

        Jenni
