“This Is Not Really Happening

Yaaaaaaa-wow.

You bet your life it is.”

That is the song by Tori Amos that I am sure was playing through my dog’s head the moment I picked him up for these pictures.

In fact, I think he even sang that weird twangy part, “ya-wow.” Or he growled. One can’t be too sure.

I don’t blame him.

I finally got to wear my Forever 21 Utility Jacket that I purchased a few weeks ago that I thought was a fantastic representation of Elsie’s jacket from the blog, A Beautiful Mess.

I was trying unsuccessfully to copy Elsie’s wonderful picture of her holding her tiny pug in her dining room.

But my dining room table was cluttered with children’s art projects.

And my tiny dog. Well, he ain’t so tiny anymore.

This picture makes me laugh so hard. Look at the pathetic look on Murphy’s face.

I love it.

My hair wouldn’t do an up-do that day. We had gone and seen “Catching Fire” at the discount theater the day before and my hair thought it was channeling its inner Katnis.

So, this is what I get for my sad recreation.

A dog practically singing to be put down.

And my hair that thinks it is much more bada** than it actually is.

I felt like “General Jenni” in this jacket.

There’s only one thing to say about that:

“Ya-Wow.”

I mean.

“Grrrrrrrrr.”

  1. Never was a cornflake girl…thought it was a good solution, hanging with the raisin girls…

That brought me back! she’s a good one to reference on International Women’s Day.

Love your jacket and hair, and your dog of course.

    • Thank you Rachel! I had no idea it was International Woman’s Day! That is so cool.

I love Tori Amos. She single handedly got me through high school!

My dog is at this moment breathing on my head. It’s a glamorous life! ; ). Thanks again!

      Have an exciting Sunday!

    • Thank you Melodee. He is looking like that quite often lately. I think he is getting old. He is very cranky lately. : (

      Have a super Sunday!

  2. That looks like the exact same jacket! We should get Murphy and Marcy together. They can both whine about how they hate to be picked up and have their picture taken. He’s a cutie!!

    • Thank you Cynthia! I would love to get them together. But I think Marcy might be much better off getting her picture taken. I fear Murphy would eat her. He is always barking at cats. He is so rude!

      Have a delightful evening! : )

  3. Murphy looks so bewildered. Too cute. That’s my favorite hairstyle on you yet! You can pull off the Katniss very well. Xoxo

    • Thank you Mandi! It is my two week hair stint. I cannot get enough of it. That movie was really good, if you haven’t seen it yet. Poor Murphy (or rather Beanie) is traumatized. He is so fat now, he hates getting picked up. He is due for a check-up in the next two weeks. I am curious about his tremendous weight gain.

      I love you!

  4. Such a great military-inspired jacket! The embroidery on the arms provides such a great contrast and embellishment. That you tried to create the sweet puppy picture with your dog is so funny. it’s something I’d do totally. Kyle and I always joke about people toting around their precious pups. And we imagine recreating the scene with our spastic pitbull, and the image becomes ridiculous. She is not patient enough to humor us. You pup seems like he’s being pretty patient with you, at least…though maybe I can’t see the terror in his face because of his fluffiness. 🙂

    • Thank you Liz! I think the same thing with my bulldog Ollie. There is no way I could pick him up for a photograph. First because I could not lift him and second because he would be even more terrified than Murphy. I fear it would result in him getting hurt. They are opposites, those two. But lately Murphy has been kind of ornery. More so than usual. I cannot wait to see what the vet says. I am kind of worried.

  5. I love this! Maybe I need to try to reenact this with Oscar (although he will probably thrash wildly and punch me in the face with his giant paws).

    • Thank you! I can completely picture that. Although, he is a beautiful dog. Those dogs are so calm mannered. He would probably just be sweet and docile. I need to see more pics of him. He brings back such sweet childhood memories.

Thank you for commenting! : ). Have a fabulous week!

  6. You look so adorable! I showed one of these pictures to my mother this Sunday and asked her to guess your age. She said, “Twenty-something? Mid twenties?” and was kind of disbelieving when I told her your actual age. Make of that what you will! 😉
Such a fun set of pictures. That jacket is perfect on you. And Murphy just kind of hangs there, doesn’t he? He’s so cute – more Murphy, I say! Ollie always steals the spotlight, with his farting, drooling, chair-sitting ways.

    • Oh my gosh! You made my day. Week. Life. Ha! I hope that is true! I know I certainly never act my age! ; ). What’s the fun in that?!

Tell you pr mom thank you for making my life better! : )

Oh. Murphy is cute. But he is… Hmmm. Difficult. He has major issues. Ollie is just so easy. Murphy thinks he is human. He is always trying to talk. He definitely did not like me picking him up for a picture. I have a post written about him. I just have never gotten around to posting it. Maybe soon!

      Have a great week!

      Have a lovely Thursday!

    • Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I think Murphy definitely thinks so, too. ; )
