Stripe Club

“The first rule of Stripe Club.

Never talk about Stripe Club.”

Still wanting more? Okay. I’ll play.

“Why do I wear stripes?”

“Because I don’t want to be spotted!” Joke courtesy of my daughter. Yep. There are two of us.

I have a thing for stripes. A serious problem. An addiction if you will. They are everywhere in my house. Mostly grey and white, but you can find other colors, too. I’m not picky.

I own about a zillion navy and white striped shirts. ‘Cause that’s not crazy.

I realized the other day that some of my photos of clothes recently contained stripes, so I decided to clump them together into one post.

Mostly so I could use the word clump.

With a gift card from Christmas firmly in hand, I used some of it towards the Savant Dress at Anthropologie. I foolishly purchased the small instead of the medium. But I stubbornly refused to exchange it.

Foolish and stubborn. That should have been the title of my post. Or the name on my birth certificate.

I paired it with my Paige Cords from Nordstrom Rack (of all of my cords, these are still the best). The necklace is the Heirloom Necklace sold awhile back from Anthropologie in the bee motif right after New Year’s.

And I really like the patches on the elbows.

Did I mention that I love the patches on the elbows?

Okay. This is getting embarrassing.

Quick, what’s this song lyric from? “The best time to wear a striped sweater is all the time.”

This outfit started with my striped sweater recently purchased from Target. The cords are AG Stevies in turquoise. The necklace was care of Simply Livly on Etsy.

This outfit is innocent enough.

But wait for it…

More stripes. Stripes on stripes! This outfit makes me smile. It just shouldn’t be. It shouldn’t happen. But it did. And I like it. The cardigan/pullover is from Target as well.

Do you have a thing for stripes? What about stripes on stripes? What about stripes on stripes on stripes? Okay. I’ll stop now.

    • Thank you! I know. Those elbow patches! Love! My husband thinks it is weird how much I love them. : )

      Have a terrific Tuesday!

  1. LOVE stripes, Jenni. I have a thing for all patterns–dots, stripes, bows, anchors, you name it. I too have approximately a zillion navy and white striped shirts. I finally culled the herd and took 3 to consignment. What is a zillion minus three? Not sure except for a license to buy 3 more.

    • I love it! That is so funny. Isn’t that true. It is definitely permission to buy three more! I am glad I am not the only one with a love for stripes! They are so simple and marvelous! I think it might be because for years people said not to wear them!

Have a fabulous rest of the day!

  2. I have a striped dress problem. I have like 5 or so…but I keep wishlist-ing more! Have you seen the Darcy Tunic? Love that one, since it is more tunic than dress and easier for me to wear right now. I was so close to buying the black and white target striped cardi, but put it back since it is so thin. I really need warmer cardigans (it is 9 degrees today) but will definitely keep my eye on it. Loved it layered!

    • Ooh! I. Love the Darcy Tunic. Super cute. I had not seen it before. I love the blue and white striped (but of course!) one. Nine degrees! Aaah! I can see why you put that cardigan back. I am thrilled that we will have two days in the sixties this week so I can wear two sweaters. I know. Us Californians are spoiled. For now. I am terrified of the fires of summer!

I hope you have a lovely evening!

  3. Ok, this is too funny! I only had one striped navy and grey top for years, but recently I have started adding more…red, mustard yellow, black. And I caved and bought the Target green striped sweater when you posted it last week. I got the keyhole lace top in green too, & two other tops. Gulp. But one was a navy tunic that was a great fit, & the other had a flower ruffle hem. It cost less & wasn’t see through, so a similar anthro top I purchased recently is going back.

    • Ooooh! I want to see the floral ruffle hem! I bet that is awesome! Target is just the best for guilty pleasure without a ton of guilt. I love that key hole top. It is the perfect fit. I am glad you got it, too. I am jealous of the green color! It is so pretty!

Anthropologie has some great pieces out right now, too! And Free People! So bad for my pocket book!

Have a wonderful week! Thanks for sharing! I love it!

      • It’s a mossimo denim blue color long sleeve top. They had only one left, and one in black with a different flower print. You know, in case you don’t need to go to target. ; )

      • Thanks Jenn. You had me laughing. I always don’t need to go to Target! It sounds adorable. I might stop by and check it out. If I don’t need to go tomorrow. ; )

I hope your dreams are magical!

        Jenni

    • Yay! Thanks for getting it! That’s the best song, right?! I couldn’t not put it in! : )

Hooray for the little yellow fellow.

I hope your week is beautiful!

  4. Love your daughter’s joke. Too funny!
I too love elbow patches. They are crazy awesome for some reason. I don’t know why but if a shirt has elbow patches I want it. As for stripes, I like them a lot but when I buy a striped something or other I find I don’t wear it much. I should get some stripes so I don’t become boring.

    • Thanks Cynthia! You would never be boring! Marcy might be jealous if you have more pattern than her! You would look lovely in stripes! : )

      Have a creative Tuesday!

      Jenni

    • Thanks Rachel! I seem to take that “can’t have too much of a good thing” and stretch the limits out of that saying. I agree! Stripes are awesome! And elbow patches are too, until next season when they are on everything. And then I will want plain sleeves again!

      Have a lovely Wednesday!

      Jenni

    • Thank you Jessica! I am watching the grey version for sale. Fingers crossed it makes it. It keeps selling and being backordered. I hope you get yours! I cannot wait to see how you style it!

      Have a terrific day!
