More Outfits

I am finding myself buried in a backlog of outfit photos. This is making me a little stressed out. How did this happen? I asked myself.

It seems pretty simple, actually. I wear clothes everyday. I almost always take a picture of what I am wearing (except today. I am wearing my nightie. I will even cook dinner in it. And eat dinner in it. ‘Cause I’m fancy like that. And a day without leaving my children without scarring delightful memories is not a day I want to be a part of). I post up to three outfits per week. Well, the math speaks for itself.

I thought I would share some more outfit photos I have. Two were taken two months ago. One was taken a few days ago.

I do not know why it took me so long to share this outfit. It is one of my very favorites. The dress was a sale find from Free People called Got You Hooked Maxi. I also have it in blue, shown here. I was not going to own two, but then this dress went on clearance. Really happy with this purchase. Of course, it is sold out now, because I am so slow with my outfit posts. : (

I can layer this dress over every long slip in my closet. I will post a picture (as soon as I take it. I have worn this combo all ready, but my photographer/husband/not-a-real-photographer was out of town) soon of how it looks with a peachy slip. That is my favorite combo.

I bought this black Michael Korr’s tuxedo shirt from Nordstrom Rack many months ago on the clearance rack. I really like the length. I simply paired it with jeans and a necklace gifted to me from Simply Livly on Etsy. Similar style, but different color here.

I paired the Free People Long Sleeve Swing Dress (last winter I fooled myself into thinking I could wear this as a dress. Um, no. I cannot imagine the view people got from behind last season, even with tights. Now, this “dress” gets worn with skinny pants only) with my J Brand Moto Pants in olive that I got from Anthropologie for $20.

My shoes! Oh! I am so excited about these! They are the Born Topanga boots I found at Nordstrom Rack two weeks ago. The pattern is a textured wool. I believe the fabric is taken from a Mexican blanket. The cheapest I see them online is from 6PM. They also come in a dark brown color.

I wore my Corallina necklace from Anthropologie with this. It was only the second time I wore this piece. This is my last reminder of my unflawed necklace. As I was walking, one of the strands broke and beads scattered everywhere. I am so sad. But I am now just wearing it sans one row of beads. It is actually more comfortable, because it is lighter. Silver lining and all that.

What has been your favorite outfit you have worn lately? And are you spending at least one day this weekend in your pajamas like me?

  1. I look forward to your outfit posts, and I especially love all three of these looks. In fact, I had a hard time choosing a favorite. If forced to choose, at gunpoint, I suppose I would go with #3. 😉

    • Thank you! That is so sweet! Hopefully there will never come a time when someone has to choose one of my outfits at gunpoint. ; ). That made me smile today. Thank you!

I am so happy you like the outfits. I am just now learning how to style things this year, so I appreciate it!

      Have a delightful evening!

  2. Ok — you are seriously going to have to post daily outfits from this day forward.
:-). Just sayin’. Love, love, love the maxi and the Free People top (and how you styled it). And I must get boots like that for my trip to Oregon next week.

    • Thank you Brynne! Oh, then the pressure would be too much. I like being able to have a weekend in pajamas. Lazy and all that… : )

Would these boots work in Oregon? I just worry that the rain or snow might get on the wool material and shrink it or make them soggy. Be careful! And have fun in Oregon! You know I am jealous about where you are going! I think Oregon is just beautiful!

Have a safe trip! And thanks again!

  3. Love all these looks! I love maxi dresses and also wearing tunics/short dresses with jeans. I also love the layered necklace look. Yep, I will admit there are many weekends where I don’t get out of my pajamas. Hard being a fashion blogger on those days!

    • Thank you Heather! I always love your tunics with your pants. Super cute! I am currently obsessed with an older post you did featuring those vintage glasses in a necklace. So cool!

I am glad I am not the only one with a weekend pajama situation! And yes,no pictures this weekend. I guess I could do it and use it for “Keepin’ It Real.” : )

Thanks for commenting and the sweet words!

      Have a wonderful week!

    • Thank you so much. That is very sweet of you. I appreciate it! I will definitely check out your blog tonight. : )

      Have a terrific Tuesday!

  4. You are so good – taking photos every day! I have a minor fit every time I take an outfit pic so I don’t do it very often. That first dress is soooo beautiful. You look like a princess. And those boots are awesome. Love the red and black design on them.

    • What kind of fit are we talking? ; ). I hate taking the pictures, too (not nearly as much as my husband). I was exhausted today and my eyes were so small. Oh well. I will still use it.

Thank you! I really need to wear those boots more! It is so hot here now. I just cannot believe this crazy weather!

      Have sweet dreams!

  5. That first chemise/dress is lovely! So dreamy and ethereal. Again, it perfectly embodies your Renaissance-bohemian style. That lace bit at the bottom is truly the icing on the cake. I looooove it.

I’m afraid I’m going to have a scary backlog of holiday party outfit photos over the next couple of weeks here. It’ll be a lot of rosy hues and a lot of sparkle. My favorites! We have 10 festive events upcoming for the holidays, and I will surely put too much thought and sparkle into each of my outfits. Everyone else will think I’m ridiculous, and I will think I am an amazing fashionista. Who’s right? lol

    • Thank you so much!

I cannot wait to see all of your outfits. I know they will all be romantic and pretty. I know I will get some amazing ideas! : )

10 events! So awesome! I just have to go The Nutcracker this weekend. I think that is the only time I have to dress up. I do have a small gathering at my house soon. But that is my favorite attire: pajamas!

      Have a beautiful week!

  6. I love every single one of your outfits, Jenni, although the maxi dress from Free People is undoubtedly my favorite. The first photo you posted, in which you are gazing in the mirror, is so aesthetically beautiful and such a great idea.

You are so much better about taking outfit photos than I am! Much too frequently, I find myself waiting all day to take a picture. By the time I get around to it, I look like such a hot mess that I decide to just skip it. 😉 I suppose I have my New Year’s Resolution all laid out for me with that one!

    • Thank you so much! Oh! I definitely do that, too. Wait way too long to take a picture and my make up is running or the lighting is terrible. I seem to post those anyway.

I hate retaking a picture more than taking it! I completely know what you mean. Today, my outfit photo was horrible. Hopefully, I got one okay one out of it.

      Too late now! ; )

I always enjoy your outfit pictures!

      Have a fantastic week!

  7. I bought the Mia Ruffle Dress in Ecru that you have. Just an FYI it is currently on sale in store with an extra 20% off I got it for $42. YES!!! I love it so much I ordered the Charcoal color too. The sale runs until tomorrow and you have to ask them to do the 20% if you order it by phone. (sale is in store only. dress is still full price online.)

    • I am so so so jealous of the price you paid!!! That is awesome! Yay! And you scored both colors? For less than the price I paid for one. You win for best shopper! I hope you love it!

Thank you for sharing! I love to hear about other people’s scores! Have a perfect week!

      Jenni
