It’s The Little Things: Hair Straightening Gel

I never knew there was a product out there that could smooth out my flyaways, until I went to my new hairdresser. She introduced me to a product called Acai Protective Thermal Straightening Balm. I bought mine from Amazon, because it was much cheaper than purchasing it from the salon.

It is still expensive, but you only need a pea size amount before you blow dry. Simply rub it in your palms and then rub your palms evenly through your hair.

I think it has improved my hair immensely. And, I can now get away with washing my hair every three days instead of two. So, whilst this product is expensive… It saves me money in shampoo and conditioner. I also feel like I can do more with my hair now than I could before.

But one thing I do want to mention is my good friend (also a former hair dresser) had purchased this product before I did. She did not like it. So, your experience might be different than mine. I would suggest reading the reviews before purchasing.

It’s The Little Things: I could say getting your hair under control, but I am going with my favorite part (lazy), not having to wash your hair as often.

Do you have a hair product you cannot live without? Have you tried this line?

  1. Interesting! How does it smell? And is it heavy? Products tend to weigh my hair down. I think I will do as you suggest and check out the reviews! I’m always on the lookout for a miracle cream for my hair!

    Thank you!!

    • Hi Cynthia! Great questions. I do not think it has any smell. If you add too much, it would definitely be heavy and could look greasy. Which would erase the point of not having to wash your hair daily! But once I put this in, I forget I have done it, except I immediately blow dry and my hair stays put. My hair is so wavy (in not a good way), this definitely has worked for me. Your hair always looks great, though! I do not think you need a straightener.

Thanks for the great questions! I should have put them in the post! : )

      Have sweet dreams!

      • Oh! I see! It is a straightener. I need more of a styling cream. I had no idea that you had curly hair. I want to see you with curly hair!!!

      • Oh! I wish I had curly hair. That would be my very favorite! I have always wanted curly red hair, alas, I was not blessed that way. I have just weird hair. It is not straight. It is not straight. It is not curly. Just slightly wavy. I love this product, because it finally makes my hair decide what it wants to be! Straight!

I hope you find your product! Let me know if/when you do!

  2. Hi Jenni,
To continue upon my comment on your last post….I wanted to give you an idea of what the flying foxes and trees look like in the park/garden in Sydney. Take a look at these….

So as you can imagine, I was pretty much screaming the whole way through the park. I’m sure the Australians were shaking their head at me, thinking, “oh, those crazy loud Americans!”

    • Oh my gosh! Argh! You just gave me goosebumps on my calves! I did not even know that was possible. That is so freaky. I would have been squealing, too. Australia is not for the faint of heart, that is for sure. Thank you for sharing! I showed these to my family and they could not believe it! Those are definitely not the bats I could handle! Oh my gosh!

Have a goosebump free evening! Aaahhh!

    • Hi Loraine! I hope she likes it. I have been thinking of you. How did your shirt work out?

I am terrified of straightening irons. I do not want the split ends. With this, you out it in and blow dry it with a brush. Easy peasy. I think it is actually quite amazing.

Let me know if you try it! And also about that top!

      Have a lovely Friday!

      • Hi Jenni,

That’s weird. I subscribed to this post but never saw your reply. Oh well! I think the Boden shirt will work out fine, although the material is a little different than I thought it would be. But it’ll do, especially since my order for the Anthro trapeze top was cancelled! Oh, by the way I purchased the same color Clinique chubby stick that you reviewed and love it. Thank you- you have a knack for finding the best products out there! Have a good night.

        Loraine

      • I am glad it works for you! I found a simple red tee looks super cute, too. I am super happy you like the chubby stick! My friends and I all have different complexions and that color seems to look good on everyone! I love it! Thank you so much for trying something I recommended. I really appreciate it!

I hope you and your daughter are doing great. I think of you often. I wore my pink flag necklace the other day and wondered if you were wearing yours that day, too.

  3. Welp ~~ this is certainly one thing we do NOT have in common. My hair is sadly, stick straight. It was great hair to have in the 70’s when Cher’s hair was all the rage. Long, straight and parted down the middle. Now…not so much. 🙁

    • No. Not sadly. Everyone wants curly or straight hair. I would be happy with either. I have a sad case in between. You are lucky! Your hair took a stand. It wants to be straight! No product needed! I also love the seventies look, so I think that is awesome! : ). I am so glad for your hubby’s job, by the way!

      Have a wonderful evening!

      Jenni

    • Hi Lisa! Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a product that did both? That is what I would love to see. And with no blow drying or any other tools required! Sign me up! Or sell me up! I would buy it in a heart beat!

Have a terrific Friday! Boy this week was fast!

      Jenni

    • Oh! I hope it works for you! Flat ironing terrifies me. I am so scared I am going to burn my hair off! Although, I think it does do the very best job at straightening. This product will not get your hair as straight as the flat iron. But it should be good for days you don’t want it super straight.

      Have a lovely evening,

      Jenni
