Felt Gnomes

It is no secret that I love a gnome. I can’t get enough of the happy bearded fellow. But I don’t want a bright garish house overbrimming with them. I like my gnomes small, that way I can hide them wherever I desire. They are not as in your face as a traditional collection, such as this, could be.

I have quite a few from a wonderful seller on Etsy with a store named Moongoat. She handfelts each one of these little guys. Some women drool over jewelry on Etsy. For me, I cannot resist someone’s handfelted work. Aren’t they adorable?

She also did these two little gnome tapestries that I placed in our green cabinet:

I bought these felted guys (and gal) on a trip to New York. We visited my favorite spot, ABC Carpet & Home. They happened to have this strange little trio in a case. Someone had obviously been lovin’ on them hard. They were originally priced at something like $48 ea. but the kind sales associate sold them to me for $10 ea. I guess she didn’t know I have a penchant for used things. They were the prize of the trip!

Now they have many adventures in our crazy fun home.

Do you have a collection you are passionate about? Do you also love a wee little gnome?

  1. It is always fun to have something (if not many) things to collect. Of all your treasures, your felted gnomes are my faves. I, myself, have an ever growing collection of Russian stacking dolls starting with a set my grandmother picked up for me on a trip to Russia when I was young. I can’t get enough.

    • Thanks Kerri!

I love your Russian doll collection. They are so colorful in your house. Whenever I see one I think of you.

I used to play with one my mother had when I was a little girl, and I lost the smallest piece. I am always on the lookout for a replacement with more than twenty nesting dolls. Great items to collect.

Thanks for commenting. I was worried nobody was going to.

      Have a great night!

  2. Very cute! I love to collect crystals, they bring nature and beauty into a home. I have so many Ive been told I’m not allowed to buy anymore; husbands orders. Your home looks to be colorful with a sense of magic with all your gnomes and dragons.

    • Thank you, Melinda! I love crystals. Do you believe in their healing properties?

I know what you mean in regards to too many in a collection. I really do not need another gnome in our backyard. Our house is small, but my love for things grows. The viscous circle…

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me about your collection. I appreciate it.

      Have a wonderful day!

  3. So cute and quirky! I love seeing where all the little gnomes are hiding in your home. It’s like a game to try to find them all…and I don’t really know how many there are so the game never ends. 🙂

  4. We stopped at Andersen’s Pea Soup gift shop (Santa Nella) on way home. There were several gnome things that made me smile and think of you. Some women were quite intrigued by them, also.

  5. It was a LONG 850 mile drive to Bend, Oregon. There is an Andersen’s Pea Soup place in Buellton, (north of Santa Barbara), near Solvang.
